ABOUT DR. FISCHER

Story
Dr. Rachel Fischer
MD, MPH, IFMCP
Trained in internal medicine and board certified in Preventive Medicine, Dr. Rachel Fischer has devoted the past decade to helping patients achieve long, healthy lives marked by optimal function and vitality. Through a preventive and performance medicine lens, she focuses on proactively identifying, treating, and reducing risk factors for chronic conditions that commonly impact overall well-being. By addressing key lifestyle factors; including nutrition, physical activity, sleep, and stress, she works with patients to optimize health, not just avoid disease.
Her clinical approach includes comprehensive evaluations supported by validated lab testing and appropriate imaging to assess cardiovascular, metabolic, and gut health, as well as nutritional, hormonal, and inflammatory status. While many patients seek her expertise to elevate their health and performance, others come to address issues such as fatigue, perimenopausal and menopausal transitions, gastrointestinal concerns, elevated cholesterol, high blood pressure, excess weight, joint pain, and chronic headaches. Treatment plans are personalized based on each patient’s goals and diagnostic results, and may include lifestyle strategies, medications, and collaboration with specialists when appropriate.

Before relocating to Fort Collins, Dr. Fischer practiced in Portland, Oregon, where she earned recognition as one of Portland’s Top Doctors by Portland Monthly Magazine. She has a strong focus on cardiovascular and metabolic health and collaborates with the Boone Heart Institute in Denver to offer access to cutting-edge preventive care and advanced performance strategies.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Fischer enjoys traveling to explore the great outdoors, road biking, hiking, and CrossFit, all while cherishing time spent with her husband, Jim, and their dog, Luna. Her active lifestyle shapes her clinical philosophy and reinforces her dedication to helping patients achieve optimal health and well-being.
